Release Notes: September 15, 2024

New features included in this release:

New user interface (framework changes)

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible experience for our users, we completely rewrote and upgraded our frontend framework. While the application's general look and feel remain similar, this upgrade brings many benefits that will enhance the performance, stability, and usability of the ProjectTeam.com platform.

Key benefits include:

  • Improved Performance: The framework changes introduce a more efficient change detection system and better optimization, resulting in faster load times and smoother interactions. This means less waiting and more productivity for your team.
  • Enhanced Security: We've integrated up-to-date security features that strengthen protection against potential vulnerabilities, ensuring your data remains safe and secure.
  • Modern User Experience: The recent changes allow us to deliver a more responsive and intuitive user interface, offering a seamless experience across all devices. The modernized design and smoother navigation will help you manage your projects more efficiently.
  • Future-Proofing: By adopting these framework updates, we position ourselves to leverage future updates and innovations, ensuring that ProjectTeam.com remains at the cutting edge of construction project management software.

Company Share Groups

Company administrators will notice a new "Company Share Groups " option in the My Company area. Administrators can create and manage Share Groups at the company level and make them available for projects. For each Company Share Group, administrators will see a list of projects and the group membership for each project. Adding and/or removing users from a Company Share Group can be done in one location instead of having to navigate in and out of individual projects. Project administration access changes

In the past, Project Administrators only had access to forms and fields to which they had "read/write" access. Therefore, there were times when two administrators on the same project had different administrative rights, which caused confusion for companies that rely on multiple administrators.

In this release, new rules have been implemented that grant all Project Administrators the ability to manage forms and fields at the project level, regardless of their access to the actual fields on the forms.

This change was also a prerequisite for completing the feature described below, "Apply Company Form Variations down to projects." Company Administrators can push forms to projects without needing access to those projects. The forms start with no users having access to any fields, but Project Administrators can add users and share groups at the project level.

Apply Company Form Variations down to projects

A core feature of ProjectTeam.com is the ability to create an unlimited number of custom forms and fields. While Company Administrators could set up forms at the company level in the past, they could not apply those forms down to projects from one spot; they had to be pulled in at the individual project levels.

In this release, we've added a new button on each Company Form Variation titled "Apply to Projects".

This will allow Company Administrators to apply Company Form Variations to multiple projects at once. Administrators can also change a Company Form Variation by reordering or adding new fields and re-applying to projects, which will update those projects to match the fields at the company level. Multi-factor authentication (MFA)

In part of our continued effort to provide a secure and reliable construction management platform, we have introduced the ability to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) within each user's profile. MFA is an essential security measure that significantly enhances the protection of online accounts by requiring two forms of verification. Using a password alone can leave accounts vulnerable to breaches, especially if passwords are weak or reused across multiple platforms. By adding a second layer, such as from popular MFA apps like Duo, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator, users must verify their identity through a time-sensitive code generated by the app, making unauthorized access far more complex. Combining something you know (your password) and something you have (the authenticator app) dramatically reduces the risk of cyberattacks and strengthens overall account security. Learn more about setting up MFA on your account here.
