Manage Edit Permissions on Gantt Chart Schedule
Learn how to grant edit (Read/Write) permissions to Gantt schedules in ProjectTeam.com. Only the creator of each schedule can define who has the ability to update tasks, dates, and dependencies, ensuring full control over project schedule changes.
Overview
Creators of Gantt schedules and Worksheets have the ability to assign edit permissions to designated users. This functionality enables creators to provide editing capabilities to specific individuals while maintaining read-only access for all other users.
It is important to note that this feature does not support live or simultaneous editing; only one user may modify the item at any given time. Additionally, granting edit permissions is distinct from sharing. Creators may broadly share an item for visibility purposes while limiting editing rights to selected collaborators. This enhancement promotes greater flexibility and collaboration while preserving control over project data.
Managing Permissions to a Gantt Chart Schedule
- From within a project, click Schedules on the left-hand navigation pane
- Select the Schedule that you would like to grant edit permissions to.
- Within the Details section, click the "..." button and choose the Manage Edit Permissions option.

- Select the permission dropdown next to the user you would like to grant edit permissions to, select Read/Write.

- Click Save.
Note: If you grant a share group Read/Write access, all users within that group will be able to edit the Gantt Chart tab of your schedule, including any users added to the group after the original permission is set.
