Import Into Worksheet

Learn how to import data from Excel into a ProjectTeam Worksheet. This guide explains required file formats, how imports override existing Worksheet data, and the steps to review values and formulas for accuracy after importing.

Overview

ProjectTeam provides a flexible and efficient way to manage project information through Worksheets. To help users quickly populate or update worksheet data, the platform includes a built-in Import feature that allows you to upload information directly from an existing Excel file.

Using the Import tool, you can add large sets of data to a worksheet without manually entering each record. Simply export the worksheet’s template (or prepare your own Excel file), then import it into ProjectTeam. During the import process, the system validates the data to ensure that the data is complete and values are in the correct format. Users should keep in mind that Worksheets in ProjectTeam operate differently from Excel. After importing data, they should carefully review their values and formulas to ensure there are no discrepancies.

This feature is especially helpful when migrating information from other systems, standardizing project inputs, or updating worksheets on a regular basis. By streamlining data entry, ProjectTeam’s import capability saves time, reduces manual mistakes, and ensures that worksheet information stays accurate and up to date.

Importing Data into a Worksheet

Note: The Import must be in .xlsx file format. Users should be aware that importing into a ProjectTeam Worksheet will override all existing data in that Worksheet. This includes values, formulas, and calculated results already stored in the system.

Because Worksheets in ProjectTeam operate differently than Excel, users should carefully review all values and formulas after importing to ensure there are no discrepancies or unintended changes.

  1. From within a project, click Worksheets on the left-hand navigation pane.
  2. Select the Worksheets Options Drop-down, and click Import (XLSX).

  3. Navigate to and select your .xlsx file on your local computer, click Open.
  4. The spreadsheet information will be populated in the Worksheet. You may now edit the information and click Save.
