Project Administrators have the ability to hide system fields on different form types.
Overview
In order to make a system field not visible on a form, an Administrator will need to hide the system field. Administrators will be able to unhide the system field at a later date, but this action will remove the system field from the form type going forward. System fields can only be hidden on the Project level.
Note: If you hide a system field on a Template Project, once you create a new project based off of that template, that system field will also be hidden on the newly created project.
Hide System Fields
- As a Project Administrator, you will need to enter the Project homepage, and select the Project Administration button.
- Once you have entered the Project Administration section of the project, scroll down and select Customize Forms.
- Next, you will want to select the form type you want a system field removed from.
- After you select the form type, you will need to locate the field you want to hide. Next to that field you will select the drop down menu, and click Hide.
- A pop up will appear asking you to confirm the hidden field, select Yes.
Note: Some system fields such as the subject field, cannot be hidden. These fields that cannot be hidden are either a way for the system to recognize the form, or they are related to other forms such as Contract fields related to Change orders, Payment Applications, and Potential Change Orders.
Unhide System Fields
- In order to unhide a system field that has already been hidden, you will need to enter into the customize forms section and select the form type, the same way you do so to hide the field. From there you will check the box Show hidden fields at the top of the form field view. This will show you what fields are hidden, with a red "Hidden" logo next to the field name.
- To unhide the field, select the drop down menu next to the form field, and select Unhide.
- A pop up will appear, asking you to confirm unhiding the system field. Select Yes.
The system field will now be unhidden and visible on the form type going forward. This field can be rehidden in the future.
