Files Overview

Overview of the ProjectTeam File Management area, including project files, form attachments, obsolete files, supported file types, and upload limits.

Overview

The File Management area in each ProjectTeam project provides a central location for organizing, storing, and sharing all project documents. It is designed to support collaborative construction workflows by giving teams an easy way to upload files, manage revisions, control access, and keep documentation consistent across the project lifecycle.

Within the Files section, you can navigate through multiple tabs that group files by purpose, such as general project documents, form attachments, and other structured views. Each tab offers tools for filtering, sorting, searching, and reviewing file history to help you quickly find what you need.

The following help topics explain the purpose of each tab in the File Management area and outline best practices for keeping your project files organized and accessible.

File upload types and limits

ProjectTeam supports a wide range of file types, making it easy to store drawings, documents, images, and other project materials in a single location. Commonly used formats such as PDF, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, images (JPG, PNG), and standard construction file types can all be uploaded without issue.

There is no overall limit to the amount of storage your organization can use. The default upload size limit is 2 GB per individual file. For companies that need to upload larger files, ProjectTeam offers an optional upgrade to increase this limit. If you are interested in this enhanced capability, contact support@projectteam.com for more information.

Navigating to Project Files

  1. Inside each project, click the Files icon on the left navigation bar.
  2. You are taken directly to the Project Files area, where you will see all folders and files that have been shared with you. This view is permission-based, so each user may see something different depending on what information has been shared with them on the project.
  3. In the file management area, users will find three main tabs:
    • Project Files: Custom folder structure created by project users for organizing drawings, documents, photos, and other general files.
    • Form Attachments: Automatically generated folders based on form types that include attachments, such as RFIs, Field Reports, and Punch List Items.
    • Halted/Obsolete Files: Area where files marked as obsolete are stored for reference.
