Drawing revisions can be compared to the original drawing within ProjectTeam. The article below gives an in depth description of how to upload a revision and compare it to the original drawing.
Overview
Users can upload a drawing revision to a drawing package, and compare that revision to the original drawing. This feature allows users to see the differences between the original and revised plans with different colored text for each revision.
Upload Drawing Revision
- To upload a revision to a drawing, you will need to enter into the drawing package, and select the drawing you wish to add a revision to.
- In the upper right corner of the drawing page, select Create Revision.
- A pop up will appear asking you to upload the new revised drawing.
- Upload the drawing, and select Next.
- You will now have two versions of the drawing, the original drawing, and the revised drawing.
Compare Drawing Revision
- On the Drawing log page, select the drawing you wish to compare to the revision. Make sure the revision has already been uploaded.
- Scroll down to the pane titled Revision History.
- Select Compare.
- This will open up the original and the revised drawings by overlapping the two. The original file will show red text, while the revised drawing will show blue text. Any overlapping data that remains the same across both drawings will populate with black text.
Comparing revisions to drawings is a great feature that allows users to easily recognize the differences between the original drawing and the newly uploaded revised drawing.
