Create a Company Workflow

Create and manage workflows at a company level and apply to multiple projects to enforce standardization.

Overview

Note: Only Company Administrators can create Company Workflows.

Company Workflows are similar to workflows at a project-level.  The difference is that Company workflows are created only at a Company level and then can be used across multiple projects.  This article focuses on the steps to create a Company Workflow.

To access the Company Workflows area at a company-level, Company Administrators can click on the "Company Workflows" tab in the My Company area.

Create a Company Workflow

  1. From the "My Company" homepage, click the Company Workflows option.
  2. Click the New button on the top right of the page.
  3. A pop up will appear for you to enter in a Workflow Name, Form Type, and a Description.  At minimum a workflow name and form type are required.  Only one form type is available per workflow.  Click Create New

  4. Enter in the Workflow details including "Who Can Start" and "Who Can View"
  5. Begin to add steps to the workflow by clicking the New button next to the "Workflow Steps" section.
  6. Enter in the required information into the step.  This will include Step Label, Send To, Who Must Take Action, and Days To Take Action.
  7. Scroll down and you will be given the option to have this step lock down the form fields, approve a form, or start a new workflow, upon passing this step.  Select the check box for any or all of the options.  You will only see the Approve Form check box if you are creating a workflow for Contracts, Change Orders, Potential Change Orders, Budget Items, and Payment Applications.
  8. Click Add to save or Add & New to add another workflow step.
  9. After adding your desired number of steps, scroll back up to the top of the workflow in edit mode, and click Save.

By Default, the new Company Workflow is not added to any Projects.  The "Project Eligibility" panel allows you to add the newly created workflow across multiple projects.
